...with nothing whatsoever to indicate what criteria were used?
It's interesting to note that as many as 17 of the 20 named cities have a reputation for being liberal/progressive. And whenever these kinds of unscientific, subjective lists are compiled for high obesity rates the "reddest" of the "red" states always rank high.
With chili parlors, some of the best ice cream anywhere, all those delicious German pastries during the holiday season, etc etc it's hard not to be a fatty in da Nati!

Who knows? I think the main stream media figures the average John Q. Public these days either does not want to be bothered with specifics or details or is too lazy or disinterested in how they came to the conclusion for their findings.

In any case, apparently Cincinnati does not have nearly as many lard laden lads and lasses as many of the metro areas surrounding it.

Since the article provides the source of the study, here is a link to the organization that has published these rankings. You can find more detailed information at how they arrived at their rankings here.

Many of the "reddest" states are in the South...
The South just so happens to absolutely love their Fried Food...they fry everything.
Fried Food happens to be very fattening and unhealthy for you.
Hence, Southerners tend to be more often overweight.
Also, those southern states tend to be the poorest states in the nation...poor people typically don't get to eat the best food either...which also leads to more obesity and health issues.

Still these lists are definitely very subjective.
