Local women's chorus group from the 1950s (live, bill)

My mother was in a women's chorus group in the late 1950s called The Chansonettes. Most of the members lived in the Bond Hill and Roselawn area. The director's name was Bill Helwig.

I just wonder if anyone out there has/had a mother or grandmother who was in that group and if there are any memories or stories to share. I assume most of the original members are deceased as my mother would have been 93 this year.

I remember they had practice one evening a week--maybe Tuesday or Wednesday--and their performing outfits consisted of a white blouse (possibly with a monogram) and a dark skirt. Outside of that, I don't remember much else!
