Beans and Grapes in P Ridge has nice large tables and free wifi. They just opened in Nov/Dec, so they don't really have an "identity" yet, but the coffee is decent and they also have "Silverton" doughnuts and wine.

Pleasant Perk is just down the street, it is more "coffee house-ish" but their tables are a little small to work at all day.

Also a fan of Sitwell's and Coffee Emporium.
FWIW, just drove past Pleasant Perk yesterday and it looked like they may be out of business.

Yea, probably. I am 6'-4" and around 280. So is the coyote you, as I do not immediately recognize the cartoon and the pudgy character? We do tend to banter, but the OP in this case lives in Cincinnnati so they get what they deserve.

lol! I get it. Even though that 'toon is 60 years old, I guess you would have had to spend a fair amount of time in front of the TV on Saturday mornings (back when they even had cartoons on Saturday mornings) to catch the reference.

I spoke to a friend who owns a coffee shop. his 02c. He has to offer Wi-fi to be competitive with other coffee shops period. And most people don't just buy a cup of coffee, they'll buy something to eat and he rarely has issues with people over staying their welcome. People are polite enough to know during lunch time the business owner needs the tables for his business. On the rare occassion where he has had trouble (e.g. a person brought in outside food and hogged 2 tables) he just walked over to them and asked them to leave. But it happens much less than one would think

In the '90s I used to go to the Buzz coffee shop on Jefferson, across from UC. The owner would make announcements on occasion that everyone without a drink should go buy one. No one was using WiFi, just hanging out and socializing, reading tarot and stuff...it was the '90s.

Hmm. Curious about this Pleasant Perk situation, I may have to take a walk by there and investigate. It would be a shame if the reason was Beans and Grapes...my gut feeling is there is enough traffic through there for the both of them.

oh, i completely agree with your gut. i have seen it before, where a restaurant closes down shortly after going under new management. i just hope the space doesn't remain vacant.
