I had the great pleasure to watch both of those teams. What a fantastic legacy for the City of Cincinnati, one of the greatest baseball teams of all time.

OK, I am back again. The great 8 was a fabulous night for Cincinnati. But any night that Pete Rose is denied access to a major league ballpark is not a great night. The all-time hit king is just that - ALL TIME! So he bet on baseball after his playing days were effectively over. Has it been proven he bet against his own team? He made some mistakes concerning not fessing up early one. But who has ever accused MLB of having advanced mentalities?

If you decide to play a major sport, that is your profession. If you go on to be one of the all time greats you need to be acknowledged. If Pete is not admitted to the Hall of Fame, it will be MLB's shortcoming, not his.

I was a little ambivalent about Pete Rose's punishment until the PED stuff hit recently, and now I'm outraged about it. These guys are getting slaps on the wrist and continuing to play after being caught cheating with drugs. That's a far worse offense IMO than betting on games you aren't involved in.

Hey we finally have something we agree on. I don't believe Pete is a lilly rose by any means. But the transgressions he participated in where not the downfall of MLB. But these recent transgressors, with their input he does not look like a lilly rose. But why is Rose subjected to a penalty the rest of them are walking away from? Do I ever believe Pete was a druggie? Hell No, you can't perform at his level amd do drugs. So give me some more documentation he was dirty, or I will state one of the greatest MLB ballplayers of all time. Give me some arguments as to why not.

Yes, I know he was there, a great jesture by the all-benevolent commissioner. I also know he was forbidden to speak, even to acknowledge Joe.
