I guess the old song is where "SIN-SIN-NATI" originated from. Cincinnati is also referred to as the "NASTI NATI" and I have no idea where that came from. I vaguely remember the song, but WOW!! just the reminder of WSAI really lets me know how old I really am!!!

I don't have much of value to add to this forum (what else is new??), but I do want to correct you on that blip, Rocky. Cleveland, to residents at least, is shortened to "C-Town."

I will also say that, in my experience, every resident under the age of 25 refers to the city as "The 'Nati." So far, no one I have met from Cincinnati qualifies as a "rapper." Most of them are downright yuppie, actually (Oxford is good at attracting them).

Technically Cinti is not an abbreviation for return addresses. There is no actual abbreviation for cities according to the Post Office and this issue really tends to **** off alot of postal workers especially considering that Cincinnati, OH is the name of several other cities as well. Many promotions tend to brand Cincy as a way to cut back the long Cincinnati name. This tends to appeal to the young and mature audience.

How about "The 513" ? Every city I visit seems to be making ball caps with their area code on them for the 25 and under, rapper inspired, crowd. Which might be a convenient way of identifying parts of town, they could be onto something.

EVERYONE in the NATI drinks natural light beer (aka NATI lite) (IT'S THE CHEAPEST BEER possible) (this beer is nasty tasting) hence the name NASTI NATI.

Another Ohio born girl, here, in the 50s in Clinton County. We always called it Cincy and practiced spelling it in a sing-song.

The first time I saw Cinty was on this site, and I thought it was a typo.

P.S. Hello Rckymtnr, funny seeing you here again.
