Yow, the news rattled me enough that I left "for" out of the thread title.

I will have 30 people on the 4th of July who will be sorely disappointed. What to do?

Get over there quick (if it's not already too late) after clearing the freezer!

Goodies reopened on Hamilton Avenue in Mt. Healthy. I know of several dissatisfied customers. But then again, my take-out from the College Hill location was one of the few times I threw food into the trash.

My son lives off of Kipling in Mt Airy. When we go to visit them, it has become a habit to go to Walt's BBQ on Colerain Ave for carryout. I have to say we have been pleased with both the variety and the caliber of food at Walt's.

I was impressed with Eli's on my one trip there. It's a pretty long drive, though.

I agree...... it's a long drive from the northern hills area. Pit to Plate in MTH is pretty good....and much closer.......so I usually head there for a BBQ fix.

I delivered my first virtual "YES!!!" of 2015 upon reading the first sentence about Eli's in that article! The writer didn't have to risk a defamation lawsuit by naming the offender because everybody knows who it is.

Maybe my calling in life is to return to Cincinnati and open a place that serves a unique, GOOD-TASTING chili. Down the line another "foodie" blog could then say, "In Cincinnati, 'chili' used to mean ground chuck marinated in dishwater with bits of cinnamon and chocolate thrown in, often served with things like grated cheese to disguise the nastiness in three or more 'ways.'" It would be an overnight sensation in Over-the-Rhine - oops, I mean "OTR."

BBQ has been bandied about elsewhere in this forum, though. Isn't anybody else going to decry BBQ Revue's departure? (In all honesty I'm not that bummed out about it. Beyond the sly nod to the Frisch's or other casual restaurant which once occupied its building - see pic linked below - to me it wasn't all that memorable at least in terms of the food. The City-Data meetup which took place there on the auspicious date of 10/10/10 is why I'll always keep it in my mind!)
