Some very good friends of mine wrote a song about route 50, and it is one of my favorite tunes.

Good band, great song. But, the video needs some girls and I still say you can't make real music with drums.

Chemistry_Guy...

A good post but needs something to bring its strictly country theme into regards with Cincinnati. I rode route 50 all the way to DC years ago. Can't say it did much for me.

In fact I might say it discouraged me from ever attempting it again. But that is how we differ in our life desires.

So give me a good dissertation why driving a large distance across US-50 is a Good thing! Sorry, but I will just stay home and realize it comes nowhere near me. Is a good thing to me, half those people don't have a reason why they are on the road in the first place!

I have a good friend who lives in Texas, a former coworker originally from LA who moved to Texas when we offered him a regional sales managership. He is retired now but jumped on that like a lightening bug on a stick of green grass. Sold his small ranch house in LA and bought a small ranch in Dallas/Fort Worth. After a few years sold that and bought an even larger ranch in Houston. Just talked to him yesterday, he actually called me wanting to know if I was alright. More than alright Bryant, I am fine. It is so nice to hear from former coworkers concerned about your welfare. And this goes back about 40 years, not just last month.

What I remember is he was working as an NC (Numerical Control) Part Programmer back then, working for a subcontractor to Boeing Lockheed in suburban Orange County. Our job was to sell NC machines and services to those same companies. I told my boss, Larry, hire his ass this guy knows how to cut exotic metal. He was hired and retired from us. He still has a machine shop in a barn behind his house because he is such a nervous whimp. But it is sure grateful to have known a few of those individuals in your life. I had to tell him, NO Bryant I Will NOT be coming out to back-ass engineer a set of parts for space engines some 40 years old. If you consider it fun knock yourself out. But me, I will be just as happy going up and having a cool draft at the bar this afternoon, which is where I am about to head.

I would suggest Northern Kentucky area. Union is definitely a great place to live and you will find the soccer moms you are looking for there. Alexandria is also a great city with great schools. Are you moving from Texas? If so and you like the southern hospitality feel then Northern Kentucky is more along those lines. Good luck with your move!
