I know there has been a lot of construction in OTR and surrounding neighborhoods with older buildings that date from the late 1800's. Does anyone who has done work in those old buildings recommend a plumber who is familiar with the peccadillos of old plumbing? Any suggestions are appreciated!

I've been using Benjamin Franklin Plumbing. Quite happy with the service I've received. I have a home built in 1920 and they seem quite capable at dealing with the issues I've had.

Thank you! A lot of the plumbers are not well versed in anything non-PVC or copper, and it is a trick finding one who has worked on some of the much older buildings.

BF has a lot of different Plumbers that work for them. When you call, specificy your needs and I am sure they will have someone qualified to handle the work. Be prepared for a bit of a wait though. It took ten days for me to get someone to take care of a recent problem because they were backed up with frozen pipes in area homes.
