Hello Cincinnati,

Considering a relo to the area. What area has acreage (2+ acre lots) with the best schools? Budget up to $600K.

I currently work at home, but would like to be within an hour of the city in case that changes.

Thanks!

Ross Township is still fairly rural and the school system is well rated and regarded. Don't know if it meets the qualification of "best," though. Your $600K would certainly buy you a LOT there, too.

I came up with 10 properties of 2 acres or greater using this search. Not sure if the link will work, but if not, go to Coldwell Banker West Shell, put in Ross Township, then advance search on your desired acreage.

Looking at Northern Kentucky will give you more acreage as well. Boone County still has a semi-rural feel but the schools are good and you are close to "civilization". You are less than 30 minutes to downtown Cincinnati.

You may want to look at Dearborn County in southeast Indiana. Much of the county is within an hour of downtown Cincinnati. There are 3 school districts in the county, all with their own sets of pros and cons. But it's worth looking into, IMO.

...Ross Township, Northern Kentucky, Dearborn County. All excellent recommendations, but without knowing more about the OP, how much should anyone really involve themselves here, especially since the OP posted the exact same question on the Columbus forum.

Yep, the two cities are pretty close. I was considering setting up camp somewhere in between or possibly near Indianapolis. I can currently work from anywhere as long as I have an Internet connection and proximity to a decent airport. I'm originally from Chicago, but currently living in Atlanta and have had my fill of this place. Time to load up the wagon and head down the trail to the next stop.

*I'd go back to Chicago if the city/state weren't so jacked up financially.

maybe this belongs in KY, but anyone know anything good or bad about Union or Verona, KY? both appear to be a suburb of Cincy with nice homes/good schools/acreage.

Union is being discussed on the "Asian Students" thread which is currently active.
