I did drive around OTR on one occasion just to check out the oldest neighborhood in the US. What I'd like to do on my next visit is find some classic, more vintage locations to have a meal. Think vintage signage and big glass windows. I found Goodfellas on yelp among a few others, but what other options are there to truly take a step back in time? Moreso interested in American and Italian fare. Arnolds is definitely on the short list as well.

Thanks,

Great name................... i wonder if we are related

Hands down you gotta checkout the PepperPod in Newport. That's the "sleeper" of old-timey greasy spoons. Also, check out the Anchor Grill. A favorite of all the kids back in the day. Both are open 24 hours.

What about Arnold's downtown? It goes back to the 1860s.
