Does anyone know why the speed limit in Reading, Ohio on Reading Rd. is 25 mph? I grew up in Roselawn and now live in Amberely Village, therefore, I still frequent that area and whenever my wife and I drive North on Reading Rd. in Reading, it's just ridiculous. Therefore, does anyone know the reason or the history(perhaps some of the older posters) as to why the speed limit is so slow? But I am suspecting that maybe Reading had problems with teenagers speeding through Reading Rd. in the 1950s or the 1960s?

And thank you in advance for any answers that you might have.

Thanks. However, I thought that it was more than that. Also, why would they have an electric speed sign near the Reading library if Reading is a speed trap?

If you don't agree with the answer why not call them up and ask them yourself as to why they have a sign.
