I lived in Batavia Twp. for almost 20 years and now live in the Day Heights (east of Milford) area. Batavia, perhaps a bit more redneck undertones, but I fit in just fine and loved it there. Moved to be just a bit closer to work.

About the traffic, the times you mentioned are peak rush hour times for 275. Working in Cherry Grove would be the best bet, especially if you come in off Clough Pike and then take 8 Mile Rd. as opposed to going in all the way on 125 at that time. If you work in West Chester you will have a long and frustrating commute every day.

There has been a lot of development in the Batavia area over the last decade or so and traffic in the Eastgate area, while it was never great, has gotten worse as can be expected.

Whatever you do, you do not want to be on 275E around 71 between 4:00-6:30 pm.

As others have alluded to, it's one of the least desirable locales in the metro area for a host of sociological reasons. Cherry Grove is your only remotely convenient commute.

Agree with this. Batavia would be a good place to live if you were a dentist.

The Batavia mailing address encompasses a lot more than just the village itself, so until we know precisely where the OP is living, generalizations are pretty much pointless.

And it might shock some of you to learn that there are plenty of educated and aware people living in the village ... with all their teeth.

So, OP, can you tell us at least the street name that you'll be moving to? I agree that Cherry Grove will give you the easiest commute, that driving to West Chester would be a drag, and that Mason wouldn't be as bad as West Chester.
