I know there are repair shops but anywhere that can fix a 70" Sharp LCD screen?

The guy we got it from says his son hit the tv with a ball so now when you turn it on, the screen part where hit is just black. ( which covers 75% of the screen).

We tried looking for a replacement and just do it ourselves but no luck.

That should be an easy fix. Buy the screen on ebay and take it to a tv repair shop

Yea, I looked at ebay for one for you also. Didn't see one. Probably means it was not a big seller. Try Craigslist.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but I suspect you will have to buy a new TV. Most new TV's are throwaways and are not really designed to be repaired like the days of old when we have the old tube or solid state Tv's in our homes. And even when it is possible to repair a TV these days the cost to do it may well be nearly as much as the cost to simply replace it with a new TV. Same goes for audio gear and most electronic devices these days.

I'd google "TV repair in Cincinnati" and contact a few places to see if they can help. Probably your only hope. DIY repairs for cars and electronics is virtually a thing of the past.

I thought he might have a chance given that it was just a screen which is a DIY item. My 2 year old Samsung failed and they did not make a part for the circuit board that went bad. I tossed it, but it did have a good screen and I thought maybe other models may have circuit failures.

But, you are right. Even a washer or dryer is gonna get a $170 service call then parts and installation and you are better off replacing it.

I suppose that is what the warranty thing is for stuff one would never expect to need to warranty.
