I know I have already posted a few things, but I don't seem to getting many responses. I am so confused about where is a good place to live downtown. One post says that the west end is a great place for young couples, and the next post will say that I'm going to get mugged walking my little pug down the street. The old 3 story homes are so beautiful in that area, as well as the townhomes on Sutter St. I gues I'm just wondering if someone can clear up the mixed responses I've seen lately... I will moving to the area in the next few months and my fiance and I would like a change from the environment we live in now. We live in the 'burbs of Rochester NY and we're really looking foward to living in a more city atmosphere. Any details would be great! thanks!

The problem is that an answer to your question is so subjective. People will have a difference of opinions based on their own experiences, ideals, and perceptions. What one sees as vibrant and exciting, another may see as scary and intimidating. You have to make that call. I couldn't imagine moving anywhere without visiting the area, at several different times of day, week, etc.. Then you can make the call for yourself.

We arrived in Cincinnati just over a year ago and wanted to be in the middle of everything so we could have quick access to many of the central areas people mention as being good on this and other forums. We decided to rent for the first year and now have renewed our lease for another since we are still unsure which area we like the most but, to be honest, we are having an outstanding time living down here. If you are looking to rent at first, I recommend 4th & Plum apartments on 4th street. It's 8 stories of huge and now renovated loft apartments (ours is 1200sq feet and we could play basketball in it) and also a heated pool and garden w/ grills on the roof! Just google "4th and Plum" The management does suck at certain things but the units are nice and there are plenty of bars and restaurants within a 5 to 10 minute walk. Fountain Square is 2.5 blocks away. You can catch a taxi within a block of the front door to Mt. Adams, Newport, Covington or jump in your car (indoor parking garage in the building is $60 per month) and hit Hyde Park, Oakley and all of the other places people mention here. There is no crime in the area (aside from when The Bengals visit Bang Night Club across the street) and if your balcony faces south or east you get a great view of the river and KY. There is a deli/carryout in the building also so you can grab breakfast in the morning and hit em again for a six pack after work. It's more affordable than you would guess by looking at what you get. Google the place for sure. Hope that helps...

I am thinking about moving to the 4th and Plum Apartments. But, I have heard mutliple complaints about the management. Anyone willing to elaborate? I would like to know what sort of situtation I am getting myself into before commiting to one year lease. Thanks!

You should start your own thread for 4th and Plum. I hated the look of the place.

Be careful about what you post (especially negative comments) about a business; there are TOS and other legal issues with negative comments. Please use DMs for specific comments like those about an apartment complex. Thanks.
