Does anybody know of any "semi-scary" Halloween haunted houses in the area that might be appropriate for a couple of 8-year-olds? (And yep, I know I'm jumping the gun a little bit.)

I don't want to take them to that thing at Kings Island or anyplace similar -- just too much for them at that age. But I'd like to step it up from completely tame, if you know what I mean. I'd appreciate any suggestions. Thanks.

Parkys Farm at Winton Woods park is the most fun for kids when they are younger! It may not be a haunted house, but the hay rides and smores by the fire...too fun, even for adults. THey have all the info on their web site already. Also, the Hamilton County Fair group is holding a Halloween event /fundraiser which will be a big party and silent auction and I believe there is talk of a haunted ride...that too is fun for the whole family. BUT, if you are ONLY into haunted houses, I made my son wait till he was a little old but the 1st one I took him to was the Lebanon Castle which is a LOT of fun but scared the pooie out of me....some people are just more scared than others over things like that.

Kings Island has a nice festival going on during the day, and Parky's is a real good suggestion, too!!! Maybe just starting them with the Scooby-Doo haunted house shooting thing at Kings Island would be the way to go now, because that is a haunted house, just not a traditional one.
