I'm looking to rent a home, preferably in a subdivision, in the Anderson Twp. area. It doesn't look like renting is a popular way to go for many home owners in this area though, I can't find anything! But maybe I'm just looking in the wrong places, is anyone aware of websites out there or real estate agents that deal with single family home rentals in Anderson? I'll only be working in the area for 1 - 2 years so buying isn't something I want to do. Preferably looking for a 3BR - 4BR size house, budget is in the $1,400 - $1,800 range.

Thanks for any help people might be able to give.

You might have better luck a little farther east along Beechmont Ave (Route 125), beyond the I-275 loop. Eastern Hamilton County and western Clermont County, along highways 125 and 32, should have lots of houses available to rent. (As you've noticed, Anderson Township itself is not exactly much of a host to a transient population.) The main towns are Glen Este, Amelia, Newtown, Bethel, Withamsville, and Batavia. Subdivisions abound in that vicinity, with the feel being largely middle to "lower-upper-middle" class. 275 would make a commute from either Loveland or Montgomery to the north, or Kentucky towns along its route to the south, a fairly quick and easy run even during peak drive times also.

Take advantage of the downturn in the real estate market. Plenty of great properties "just aren't selling," and an impatient owner might be overjoyed at the prospect of having a good tenant pay the bills rather than maintaining a vacant home.

Anderson is definitely not an area very conducive to renting, but I have seen a few small homes for rent on Craigslist...it's worth checking out.

That's great advice, you're right, I'm definitely seeing more out in Clermont. There's little to nothing in Anderson. I'll also contact real estate agents to see if they have any clients that could be interested in renting.

In today's housing market, I have to believe if you are in a position to enter into a 2-year lease, there must be opportunitites. The owner may not be thinking that way, but once confronted with their prospects of selling (particularly at a substantial loss), they may be willing to consider a lease rather than having it sit there vacant and costing them.
