If there's one thing I love about Cincy, it's the fact that you definately get your moneys worth living here. Add to that, there's alot of cool stuff in this town as well. We're well on our way

I'll second that, but I am prejudiced since I was born here. Never had an overwhelming desire to move away, and am now glad to enjoy my retirement here. To sum it up, Cincinnati is just a great place to raise a family and pursue life.

I grew up in the Cincinnati area. After 30+ years away, when my husband retired I moved back, towing him along <g>. He had never lived in a city this large and has had a great time exploring neighborhoods, restaurants, recreational activities, etc. We think it offers a quality of life that's an excellent value for the money. As retirees, we don't have to worry about the less than stellar school system in Cincinnati proper, nor do we have to deal with traffic issues commuting to work at peak times and in bad weather. Nonetheless, Cincinnati's also offered us ample opportunities for part-time work when we want it.

Several of my friends and acquaintances, now that we have reached our golden years, have opted to be snowbirds in Florida. Many of them now stay there for 7 months of the year so they can be permanent residents and avoid Ohio's Personsal Income Tax. But they are back here for 5 months of the year. Must be in a different economic catagory than mine. Pay property tax, reasonable maintenance & utilies, etc. on a property you live in 5 months a year, and think avoiding Ohio Income Tax is a gain?

Me, I am just fine staying here in Cincy. When you no longer have an obligation to report to work, or fight rush hour traffic, some snow doesn't bother me. I just hibernate in my comfortable house, eat out of the freezer I keep well stocked, and wait for the snow to melt. In the meantime I can look out the window and say isn't that pretty? Then when Spring breaks, Hallelujah, what a regeneration of life.
