What's one thing you'd improve about your city that you think would make the most positive changes? If you already think your city is great, what could take it to the next level? If you think your city is not so great, what could be done to bring it up to par? Let's try to keep this constructive .

Charlotte, NC - Diversity, Diversity, Diversity.....on the levels of places like Dallas/Phoenix/DC. Not enough activities for the "single person".Very much a married town....Also a very conservative town..would love to see a bit more liberalism in the city....Shall I go on?

B-City: Move it further west from NYC

honorable mentions:
--------------------

-Expand the city borders to pre-1900 levels (population x5)

more realistic mentions:
----------------------

-Build more downtown residential (high-rise)

-more competitive business environment (e.g. lower corp. taxes)
-increased diversity
-other winter options (e.g. indoor pools/parks)
-better public schools
-more/improved mass transit
-sprawl reduction or increased density or urban infill
-less "NIMBYism" and more progressive growth
-slightly higher population growth rate (e.g. 15%-20% annually)

Orlando:
- Revitalize Pine Hills with new luxury condos
- Increase public transit and secondary options
Locally owned Taxi Services in every suburb
Commuter Rails on 436, OBT, 434, and 17-92
Major tax incentives for businesses and homeowners that take advantage of public transit and living closer to where they work
Increase mixed use living around the city
- Create a Monorail from Disney to Universal to Downtown so visitors can see the "real Orlando" while locals can get to Disney without having to drive 50 miles each way.
- Evict the Church from that abandoned project in Altamonte and put it to better use. Then do further development around Crane's Roost with Bars and Lounges.

If we had more moderate winters I'd say we'd be one of the largest metro areas in the country.

Not to nitpick, but Phoenix isn't a very diverse city at all.

As for my own city, the biggest problem in Milwaukee is our crappy public transportation system and our lack of a regional transit authority.

No, no it isn't. Charlotte is 68.9% white vs. 79.9% white in Phoenix.
