I think they would chose an area in the middle of nowhere to build their own city.

Probably New York City. It's one of the world's international cities where nations everywhere meet. The problem would be that there needs to be airspace for them to be able to safely land their space ships. So maybe uptown Manhattan, or at least somewhere where there aren't too many skyscrapers, maybe somewhere in the skyscraper gaps to either side of Central Park. Better yet, that gap between downtown and midtown, there aren't too many tall ones there.

DC, it is the only city in the U.S. who already has embassies. They could just represent their nations there. They would also have a mission for representation at the UN I would assume in NYC.

Actually, a good choice would be Green River, WY. They already have the Greater Green River Intergalactic Spaceport.

Greater Green River Intergalactic Spaceport - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia - Article on it.

Google Maps - Google Maps view of the spaceport.

Is this seriously a thread?

We have no idea how aliens think or act. If they have personalities, we wouldnt know what they are like. We dont know what is important to them.

But if I had to guess, it would have to be New York or DC.
