The word "urban" can't be observed with a photographed easily, IMO. It's something you see, feel, hear and smell. It's also hard to give an apples-to-apples type of comparison with just two pictures. I thought #2 was more urban because of the people, the number of windows and doors near the street, and the variety of architecture and buildings in a small area.

I have to agree with that, everything is better in person. Pictures can only do so much, you have to actually be in the moment to capture it all. That goes for any city really.
