Malls are kind of a relic of the 70s and 80s at this point. People don't shop at malls half as much as they used to....they're kind of an afterthought.

It might be like that where you live but it's NOT like that in other cities with malls like South Coast Plaza, Mall of America, King of Prussia Mall, The Galleria, NorthPark Center, Lenox Square, etc.

Very true. Malls are still the primary shopping destinations in most of the Sunbelt. Nothing wrong with that.

well suggest something for us to argue over. We can't survive not arguing.
I happen to like the shopping options in chicago as it goes way beyond michigan avenue. I like state street, and the ecletic shops in bucktown off north ave and milwaukee. I like the area around DePaul , and the N. Halsted shops before you get to Boystown. Chicago shopping is great.
Also though, where in Houston is comparable to Vinings shops, the East Atlanta Village or Little Five Points. I think Atlanta has great shopping MALLternatives. The squares of Decatur and Marietta are great options, I dont see this kind of thing in Houston. I love the Galleria though
You obviously don't know Houston if you really think that.

I don't get that vibe from Houston. I actually think Houston has quite a bit of little quirky areas spread around the city. Any large city will have areas like the ones in Atlanta you listed. I can't think of any large cities that don't have those options.
The Galleria has a 60 story building adjacent to it nothing like transco tower
