Secondly, all of you Houston posters need to calm down because your area hasn't past Philly in any metropolitan statistic yet! There are still many towns in my county of Gloucester that have not completed census forms yet. They are still adding people in the Philadelphia area. So don't get to happy!
do you work for the census??? Cause I did and they said the last counts were in July. The enumerators were supposed to stop visiting homes in June.

How much did they pay you guys anyway. For us in Houston we got less than 20 bucks an hour. But that is better than my friend in The Valley. They only got 10 bucks an hour

When the census numbers come out the top 4 will definitely stay the same the rest of the top 10 is a toss up.

Honestly the only wild card is 4 potential counties at play in the Philly MSA - which also would have a cascade effect on CSA, but I agree most likely Dallas will stay at 4, cant see all the counties coming back to Philly but is has become less centralized since the last census which actually increases commuter rates. Also if Allentown/Beth meets Philly CSA requirements that would add another nearly million to CSA, but will not meet MSA criteria

if all 4 came back it would exceed DFW on MSA, but not likely

The estimates are ased on the counties from 2000, without new commuter data

There is no skewing the information.

As of June 2010 they have finished up with their tally on census information, and will release the full work in June 2011 with demographics, and everything.

So it's over, whats done is done. And honestly, some of you guys are making a big deal out of this, I want 8.00% of the eligible to work population to leave so that way our unemployment rate will be 0.00% (or near it) and we'll have a healthier metropolitan area.

Philadelphia can take those people, please please take them!

Actually, the company that did this wasn't Business Journal, as they just posted it. Second, the company that did to it used the same metrics as the Census, so the numbers are going to be the pretty much the same. They did the same thing for city limit populations, too, and they were posted here.

Nah, Houston has most likely passed up Philly. You can see by the early estimates. Not to mention the counts have been over with for a while.

I hope those black people need to stop being SO SO interesting in a city that's claimed to be a black mecca when there are several of cities/metros that have better opportunities for them than Atlanta now. Hint: HOUSTON.
Your numbers are a year off. Atlanta grew by 89,000 last year. This year, it grew by about 135K, but the end of the decade Census is always higher.
