The other part is NJs High Schools would be rated above GA as well

NJ has some of the best public school systems in the nation. Having good colleges is nice, NJ has enough for its size (Princeton is one of the best), plus NYU, Columbia, and Penn State are all close by- They may not be in NJ, but I know plenty of people who live in NJ and go to college in NYC- so that shouldn't be an obstacle in this discussion.
the OP didn't say anything about high schools. they specifically said colleges/universities, and i feel georgia is the better state in that regard. it's not just about academics, but georgia just offers more when it comes to institutions of higher learning, IMO
who brought up high schools anyway? you guys just wasted a whole page and a half of discussion that had nothing to do with what anybody was talking about

Yeah, I guess it might come off a little uncouth the way Georgians talk about Alabamans. It's more like two siblings making of fun of each other just for the sake of doing so, not anything mean spirited. Usually.

Understood, think that dynamic is pretty common with neighbors, like a sibling, I can talk bad about them but don't you...

alabama+atlanta+savannah=georgia
no but seriously, outside of those two cities, alabama and georgia are both rather similar, IMO. augusta and birmingham are like two siblings
Intresting points, could you explain further? IMO, Huntsville and Mobile don't really feel similar to Columbus, Athens, or Macon....
I've never heard of Augusta and Birmingham mentioned as siblings?
i'm not saying that all of the cities will mirror each other. but as a whole, the cultures of georgia and alabama are very similar
i've always seen birmingham as like the big but younger brother of augusta. very similar cities. both sitting somewhat in the shadows of atlanta, and they have that same charming piedmont vibe. rolling hills and towering pines. although, of course, augusta feels more historical and definitely more colonial
mind you, this is just from the view point of someone who's family is rooted in the savannah river valley, spent his early childhood in south carolina, but was raised all the way out in TEXAS....so my opinion may not count

IMO, I would rather live in the city/suburbs of Birmingham, Huntsville, or Mobile compared to cities in North Dakota, Iowa, South Dakota, Rhode Island, West Virginia, Montana, New Hampshire, Kentucky, and Mississippi...

well if someone likes huntsville, what could they possibly dislike about kentucky--and to a lesser extent--mississippi?

Besides Lexington and Louisville, I seriously doubt I could live anywhere else in Kentucky.... Bowling Green would be a huge maybe....
