If you get out of the woods occasionally you might discover a new world out there. Charleston is a very impressive city to folks in the know. They even have indoor plumbing, something I would guess you know little about.

These two cities should merge as one larger metro along with Savannah.

Charleston Est. 1670

New Orleans Est. 1718

I like Charleston. I have went there every year for the past four years except in 2010. My only experience in New Orleans was 9 years ago and I remember the French Quarter smelling like urine and feces so bad I wanted to throw up.

I'm not upset with you, because you clearly don't know what you're saying, or who you're saying it to.

Despite liking both I must say I am very surprised by which city is winning this poll...

New Orleans is twice the size of Charleston. But Charleston amazingly can compete with larger cities. That's the beauty of the area.

Bourbon Street does smell like urine and feces, the rest of the Quarter usually does not have a smell (or that strong of a smell).

Alot of people actually seem to say that about New Orleans. That it punches above its weight.

That's because everyone has an opinion and it appears that more people here are of the opinion that Charleston is the better of the two. Not hard to understand.

I mean "economic momentum" as well.

That makes no sense.

Clever... One is way more known than the other and while I don't have the numbers in front of me I imagine it is quite a bit higher as a destination for tourists. Not to hard to understand expectations there huh? But thanks for your brilliant insight into the nature of opinions...
