Sicilian pizza is square. I remember Little Caesar's pizza used to be square as well. Personally, I think there's just something about square shaped pizza that makes it seem more appetizing.
Wow I completely forgot about Little Caesar's. I haven't seen one in NYC for years. I remember they had good cheesy breadsticks, but their pizza was meh imo.
I personally think pizza by the triangle slice looks better than the squares, and more fun to eat, but that's probably because I grew up on NYC pizza.

Well most pizza I eat is triangle as well. I can't remember the last time I've had square pizza, but I do know it just looks more tasty for some reason.

^that is true! Does New York have something similar to Italian Beef or Italian Sausage? Chicago does those so well, and it's truly only great in Chicago (I've never had an amazing beef or sausage outside of Chicago).

In terms of sandwiches NYC has great Jewish and Italian delis, but I haven't found any place that would serve anything similar a Chicago Italian Beef sandwich.
We've got lots of great Italian Sausage food trucks scattered around the city. Also, every year the San Gennaro Feast takes place in Little Italy, and the Italian sausage sandwiches served there are absolutely delicious. Homemade sausages, browned with peppers and onions, with beer drizzled over them periodically, served on crispy, chewy, fresh-made Italian bakery rolls. Makes my mouth water just thinking about them.

^That looks SOOOOOOO F'ING DELICIOUS!!! My cousin makes a mean Italian sausage (and the best beef I've ever had!) and I'm lucky to get access to those every so often. Whatever that aus jus (or sauce) is that you drench the bun in is AMAZING!!

NY definitely has Italian Sausage. It is commonly served as "Italian Sausage and Peppers" or just "Sausage and Peppers" on a roll. Sausage, green peppers, red peppers, and onions with seasonings.
Just across the river in Northern (and parts of Central) New Jersey, you can get what is known as an Italian Hot Dog. This is a hollowed out roll of fresh Italian bread, filled with grilled hot dogs, roasted potatoes, peppers, and onions - sometimes with marinara sauce, sometimes with ketchup. can also add hot peppers, or hot sauce.
Just wondering what's with Chicago cutting their pizzas into squares? Is there something wrong with the classic slice? Or is it just to be different/easier to share?
Easier to share equitably when there's more than two people. They do this elsewhere in the Midwest too -- not sure if it started in Chicago and spread eleswhere or if it started elsewhere and eventually reached Chicago.
