If you still think that there's NO rivalry between Dallas and Fort Worth.... (life, south)

dallas has a federal reserve bank, has highly regarded medical facilities and schools, has a decent and expanding light rail system, has the largest urban hardwood forest in the country, has one of the country's best urban lakes, has numeorus corporate headquarters, is responsible for producing and nurturing some of the most influential blues and roots musicians of all time, has incredible architecture all around, has numerous established unique neighborhoods, has Fair Park, has a lot of political/historical significance within the state and country, is not merely a hub for but also the birthplace of lots of the large corporations you speak of. we have some of the country's best restaurants and an extremely eclectic mix of dining options. shall i continue?
no major successful projects? uptown is bigger than all of downtown ft. worth, not to mention that downtown dallas is far bigger than downtown ft. worth. you have little to no idea what you are talking about if you think that all the recent projects in dallas have been a failure.
All good points.
And Fort Worth has: a U.S. Mint facility, highly regarded concentration of museums (one of the best cultural districts in the country), one of the best zoos in America, ALSO has numerous corporate headquarters which includes American Airlines, has several growing neighborhoods with "urban villages" being developed as we speak, has the Colonial (the "5th Major"), one of the most active downtown areas with several activities on the calender, is probably the only Texas that embraces its heritage (WITHOUT being cheesy, as stated many times before), a great mix of old and new architecture, one of the best opera halls in the nation, has been one of the safest/most liveable cities in America for a few years now, a streetcar system in the works, well established bike/walking trails.....
See, we can do that too.
Also, the projects in Dallas are great.... for Dallas. Because that city already has pretty much everything. Dallas bragging about the new things it has is just like a billionaire bragging about finding a nickle on the street. Fort Worth's future is pretty bright, seeing what we're building. And we're building more for human scale than just a bunch of trendy new skyscrapers, so it's a bit more inviting.
The point is, BOTH cities have alot going for them, so (and I'm talking to EVERYONE here) don't think for one second that one city easily dominates the other....

Bigger constitutes better in Dallas eyes. FYI uptown is not bigger than downtown Fort Worth. The Fort Worth zoo is a top 5 zoo in the country and Dallas has one of the largest zoos. Would you rather go to top 5 zoo or a large zoo?
Dallas likes to pretend it's a real city when it's really a plastic, fake, giant suburb.
Obviously Obtuse you know I that NEVER visit suburbs. But I go to Fort Worthless a couple of times a year to go to a museum show and eat Tex-Mex out of that little house south of the cow-pens.
ESPN chose Fort Worth because they wanted the Texas theme. They didn't get that in Houston and they know they won't get that in Dallas anywhere. If they wanted any other theme, Dallas would have more a chance to host whatever setup ESPN wanted. But Fort Worth has no shame in it. I don't want to say Dallas distances itself from it but the same type of Texas culture that exists in Fort Worth has been diluted the past 30 years in Dallas to the point that it is barely surviving. It only exists in the city's mentality.
My man Lakewooder that town has added over 215,306 new residents this decade. Thats nothing to sneeze at my friend.
