Overall a good list. Some oddities:

-The relatively high ranking of Dubai. Their economy has taken a shellacking in the last few years. On the other hand they do still have oil.
-Where's Dallas?

It wasn't included nor were cities like Philadelphia - They pre selected 65 and only ranked those

They exclude certain cities due to regional proximity, in Texas they choose Houston and excluded Dallas, in the NE they excluded Philadelphia due to proximity of NYC so it is hard to say where they would have ranked, they never included them in the mix actually

Boston and New York included but Philadelphia excluded? That's insane.

Yeah. Whether you think Dallas (or Philly for that matter) can compete with Atlanta or Houston is irrelevant. However I can tell you both Dallas and Philly are way more important and economically relevant on the world stage than Chongqing, China (and yes, I have been there) or Dublin for that matter.

Oh, I didn't notice that Philadelphia wasn't on the list too.

Certainly both Philly and Dallas have more global presence and importance than Dhaka or Ho Chi Minh City.

I'm leaving up the OP and link so folks can read it as it's an interesting article, however, we don't compare North American cities to foreign cities in here now as it's too hard to really do that. Please see: //www.city-data.com/forum/city-...e-posting.html

Thank you.
