Okay, point taken. However, Atlanta in general is quite safe. The vast majority of the crime you are referring to happens in two or three police precincts.

Yeah you guys are an inferior version of Dallas and Houston. Large, sprawling, but less urban than either Dallas or Houston, less safe, less international and less over all diverse.

Heck, you guys are even a worse sports city than Houston who only have two Rockets titles to your one World Series.
Whenever sports enters the conversation about city comparisons, I know I'm dealing with a bona fide moron.

Seattle is horrible.....

- Not close to many other cities for a weekend road trip
- Early last call
- Gets dark at 4:30 in the winter
- Suicide weather from October - April
- High COL
- Locals aren't friendly (Seattle Freeze)
- Too many beaten dog men in Seattle
- Concerts skip Seattle
- Not as much entertainment, nightlife, festivals, annual visitors, concerts, etc as Atlanta
- The average man in Seattle is scared to approach a female in public because he might be accused of being a creep / etc
etc etc
- very very very very very few attractive women

Might as well live in LA if you are going to pay Seattle prices IMO

Atlanta isn't THAT close to other cities for a weekend roadtrip either. Nashville, Charlotte, Birmingham - and I rarely, if ever had a reason to go to those cities. Maybe include Tampa or Orlando if you want to stretch it, and even then, it was rare for me to travel to that region. Portland and Vancouver are much closer to Seattle than Atlanta is to other cities.

I understand. I lived in Midtown Atlanta previously and never felt any danger. My current hometown of DC is in the same boat with a terrible crime rate but very safe in the right areas however you can't deny that Seattle's crime rate is much better then Atlanta's.... 4X the murder rate 6X the violent crime is not a small increas in chances.

Not quite getting the isolation argument. What major cities are Atlanta close to? We're not in the NE corridor of nearby large cities.

How does Atlanta fare oh-so-much-better in that category?
