New York City has a population of about 8.4 Million people, and half of its Metropolitan Area population is in New Jersey & Connecticut. Where as Los Angeles the city may be 3.8 Million people, but Los Angeles County has over 10.5 Million people.

There are some people who live in suburban New York north of New York City in counties like Westchester, Putnum, & others that probably do refer to themselves as "New Yorkers" too. I'm not so sure people from Connecticut or New Jersey call themselves New Yorkers though.

So my question is, based of the given scenario in the above paragraphs, are there more "real" Angelenos or more "real" New Yorkers? Technically everyone living in Los Angeles County can call themselves an Angeleno, because the county name is the same as the city name.

It's hard to say.

When I tell someone I'm from Jersey, I make sure to mention that it's in the NYC area.. I've came across a lot of people who seem to clump NJ with NY regardless- NYC is why NJ is even talked about as much as it is.. A lot of NYers and SoNJians alike hate that. The general public associates NJ with NY.. When southerners are complaining about arrogant NYers, I'm sure they're grouping those loud mouth NJians in with them ass well, "It's all the same shi* to a southerner" ... Kidding

Either way, most people from Jersey are proud to be from Jersey- You usually get a interesting reaction (whether it be good or bad) when you tell someone you're from NJ.

like they say on 101.5 "Not New York, Not Philadelphia, proud to be New Jersey" I will say I get the best Jersey traffic on 101.5 though

A real Angeleno? I'm having a hard time picturing that image (stereotype) in my mind. Are people from LA caught up in that stuff? On here, KONY & some others throw around the "real NY" stuff but I've never heard California Sur or any other Angeleno play that card. So my vote goes to people from in the NY area calling themselves NYers.

People from Cali aren't any different than people else where, you wouldn't be able to tell if someones from LA or not, there is not a notable difference and for the most part LA is a chill and laid back city. New York City is the exact opposite.
