Unless something really major happens I don't see Los Angeles losing its spot as the capitol west of Mississippi anytime soon. Seattle is an economic power but is not on the level of Los Angeles. San Francisco is the only other likely city that comes close, but San Fran still has a long way to go to surpass LA as the capitol west of the Mississippi.

Yeh cause the Puget Sound is really small and doesn't have any ports or waterway navigation. Im guessing Chicago is too landlocked for you too?

I don't consider any city as the capital other than our national capitol, Washington DC. But if we are discussing the largest most influential city west of the Mississippi river than Los Angeles dominates. I don't see Houston overtaking LA in population or influence anytime soon if ever. Los Angeles has an impact on America and the world that any city other than New York can not attain due to television and the motion picture industry. It is more than the entertainment center since Los Angeles directly shapes thinking and cultural mores. For example, the fact that gay relationships are essentially the norm now has much to do with the writers, producers, actors that communicate tolerance to a nation slow to accept diversity. No other city in America has such an impact on what people are exposed to. NYC, of-course, has tremendous influence as well but not to the degree that Los Angeles does.

I sometimes feel like you rep yourself, as I have no idea who would want too

And to answer the OP's question...No. L.A is going down. If L.A wasn't such a draw for immigrants, and I don't see why it is, it would already be on its way out of the big leagues.

people rep me because they agree with what I say, just because no one ever agrees with you doesn't mean you have to be jealous.
