Northern Hip Hop vs Southern Hip Hop (Chicago, cons, NYC)

I like northern Hip Hop more because it is more lyrical. The southern Hip Hop is more commercialized. For me lyrical means talent, and commercialized means no talent. For example, crank dat souldja boy, superman that h, it makes no sense. I could go on with the list. Well that just me. Which one do you like more? and why?

Northern, since I love the old school hip hop. Obviously it started here, so that's why I chose it, lol.
the grandmaster of hip hop, Grandmaster Flash, lives in the neighborhood where I teach I always thought it would be cool to write to the record company and ask if he can come to the school and talk to the kids, since he lives right there.
Jersey Guido Hip-Hop, a la D'Jai's (OK guido music is more dance than hip-hop but anyway...)

I like both to be honest. I realize that NYC came up with it (influenced by us of course) and the correct formula is to have good lyrics but I like lyrics at a Southern angle (Luda, T.I., Andre 3000, Bun B, Wale*, etc). To NYCRican, Soulja Boy's from Chicago and moved to ATL, he's a school aged kid, google superman that h*e to get the meaning of his song (it's pretty stupid once you know what he's talking about). *The guy reps the DMV, so hey...

You need to find some other topic this has already been done. ANd name some Southern rappers that have talent and ill name some northern rappers who dont CHicken noodle soup
