Cleveland-Columbus-Cincinnati would make an incredible city.
The "3-C's" of Ohio merged together as one city WOULD be an INCREDIBLE CITY ... all are uniquely different and bring a host of
individual amenities, strengths and prestige.
Another interesting lineup here ... It's worthy to point out that Cleveland and Akron are already thought of as one "verylargemetropolitanarea" ... only separated by just under 50 miles, but already well connected to each other via suburban sprawl and shared bedroom communities.
Cleveland tourism officials already tout this region as "CLE+" in their travel literature and on the website ... and this more
encompassing region actually includes Youngstown, Akron & Canton.
Cowtown offers Cleveland nothing. Columbus is far too generic and suburban with a singular attribute as being home to a Big Ten university. It really has more in common with Champaign, Ill., than it does with Cleveland.
Iused to feel that Columbus was a "cowtown" ... until I moved there! Columbus is actually an extremely vibrant city that does offer some endearing qualities and elements ... mostly, Columbus would bring a strong element of growth and prosperity if it were to be merged with Cleveland.
Now, I have always recognized Cleveland as definitely having the signature hallmarks of being a more "worldly" or a more profoundly recognized metropolis than any other major city in Ohio, including Columbus ... but, don't be so quick to dismiss the power and the vital importance of Columbus ... it's definitely a city with a very bright future ahead
The only one that makes any sense to me right now is NYC-Philadelphia because the two metros already blend together in Mercer County ,NJ
