GDP is irrelevant (especially for a bankrupt city like NY)! I want to know the GDI/capita.
NYC is required by law to have an annual balanced budget, so you are obviously just making stuff up.
And its credit rating from the major global credit agencies is the highest possible.
But, of course, you have never been one for facts. You claimed that NYC and London were poor (!) and then claimed that provincial cities in inland China were rich (!!)
BTW, not that it matters, because you'll probably say now that Kabul is rich and Geneva is poor, but the GDI per capita in NYC is among the 3 or 4 highest in the world.
you'd think a city with half a trillion dollar output would have a more efficient system of getting rid of trash right. instead its glamorous shiny black bags lining the streets of its most prestigious borough.
but even with all the garbage, the horrific traffic and nauseating fumes i'd rather live there than london. id never live in england. yikes.
NYC doesn't have alleys because the land is too valuable. Why would NYC be "improved" by building horrible alleys everywhere?
The whole point of NYC is the density and vitality. Why would someone propose destroying that by suburbanizing the city?
And garbage bags are only left on the street in front of smaller tenement buildings. All the larger buildings keep trash inside.
...right, and NYC is still one of the world's most desirable/successful/popular/visited/highly ranked (and for a reason). NYC's 1.46 trillion dollar economy and it being by far the most visited city in the United States by people across the globe is a symbol of its success and immense popularity. You sound a bit jealous (but it's only human nature to envious of something so heralded -- sort of like the Prom King/Queen scenario).
What makes you think New York City doesn't have alleys?
Um, it doesn't.
Have you ever been to NYC??
NYC is famous for never building alleys. There are no alleys whatsoever in Manhattan.
There are a few side streets with alley-like functions, but alleys were never built.
Go to Chicago (for example) and every street will have a "back street", which is known as an alley. This is where folks park, where the trash goes, etc.
