That's completely true, but most locals here know that it's not a matter of "if", it's a matter of "when" it gets built. The land surrounding the MOA is often praised as the most valuable land in the Midwest (including Chicago), so what eventually gets built there has to be relatively extravagant to support the investment, and since the economy is terrible right now, it's not the best time to build a "spec" 5 million RSF retail development, but the market CAN support this space when the economy begins to rebound.
In general, the MOA doesn't have very unique stores but the experience and the foot traffic will keep it a popular desination that is nationally recognized. It's a success story that is hard to recreate, but I shudder to call it the Twin Cities' tourist destination -- I'd rather that title belong to the Chain of Lakes, which is more authentic to the area.
NorthPark Center in Dallas, TX was built in 1965 as the largest climate-controlled retail establishment in the world. NorthPark Center is the most popular shopping center in North Texas with over 27 million visitors a year; it’s one of the top five shopping destinations in the USA. Northpark has annual sales of more than $1 billion dollars. H&M will open a store at NorthPark in 2011.
NorthPark Center had its first expansion in 2005. It increased the size of the mall to 2 million sq ft. I don't think the mall can be expanded anymore. NorthPark's interior hasn't changed since it was built in 1965. The expansion matched the original design.

Really? I've never been impressed by the Dallas skyline and I've never heard anyone speak highly of it. That being said, I think the skyline issue can be debated.

IMHO DFW by 2 points
Dallas and Fort Worth tied with Minneapolis and St. Paul in terms of urbanity.
When did this happen?
Dallas - Fort Worth better than MPLS. - STPL. in terms of music scene? When did this happen?
Dowtown Dallas and downtown Fort Worth better than Downtown Minneapolis and downtown St. Paul.
Again, when did this happen?

Um, it's not THAT hard to believe.
Look, I'll give ya that the Twin Cities are more urban that any Texas city/area, but don't think for one second that the DFW area doesn't have an already established and rising music scene. And Downtown Dallas may not be that great, but Fort Worth has what is considered to be one of the best in the country (growing as well) and you should see that when ESPN comes down here for the Super Bowl....
And to Ferrari, what do you mean "Sports: MSP - For me because of college Div I team"? DFW has 4 Div. I schools. Two of them private.
