I found this website just doing research to cure borrdom, and it shows how the major metro areas in the US and in other parts of the world have recovered from the Great Recession and they actually performed during the recession. It also shows each metro "2010" population estimate, which seem a little more accurate considering the 2009 estimate of each metro.

Recovery of the auto industry = recovery in Detroit.

Very interesting information. I'm very happy to be in D.C. I see Baltimore is right up there with us. It's hard out there in other area's of the country though and it's very sad.
