Truthfully, it's so so so much more in NY. I don't even think it's close. I don't really come across any of those types in NJ. When I do, it catches me off guard because that type is not very common in NJ at all. America really misunderstands NJ.
Sure you can believe that America simply misunderstands New Jersey or that everybody else is blind but has it ever occur to you that you don't see certain things because you are so used to them?
If I never visited my friends in North Jersey and then went to clubs in Jersey City, along route Route 46 and down the Jersey shore I would believe you. Unfrotunately I have seen it and the guido but the general obnoxious "New Jersey - only the toughest survive" culture is omnipresent in the state. Don't kid yourself even if your relatives and friends don't act this way.
So he is a bouncer in New York and doesn't see that many guidos from New Jersy as he does form New York. But of course. What if he was a bouncer in Clifton?

Ah, you are getting closer. You see, most of those knuckleheads that you have seen are from NY and visiting NJ. Which is why many NJ folks get upset. If the people from NY who visited NJ were peaceful, respectful, and not goofily dressed, we would welcome their visits with open arms. Unfortunately, that is not the case.
Without a doubt, there are some of those spiky-haired types in NJ (generally in the blue-collar areas very close to NYC). But really not many, and my point was that those types are far more common in NY. It is not even close.
Spend some time in the NY counties of Richmond, lower Kings, most of Queens, and much of the Bronx. In fact, go to any neighborhood in the 4 outer boroughs that still have a strong white population, and you will essentially be emerged into what would appear to be an audition for Jersey Shore, Part II. Try it! It's great fun. Tell me what you find in neighborhoods like Bay Ridge, Dyker Heights, etc!

Great example! Ironically, many people visiting those silly bars in Clifton are from Staten Island. From your city.
"Guidos originated from here- It's where it all began. Almost everyone's parents/grandparents are from Brooklyn. The racial tension is absurd, I feel like everything here is so backwards as opposed to the rest of the NYC metropolitan area! Hate crimes galore.
Half of the Jersey Shore cast mates are originally from SI. I actually knew the girl Angelina at one point, who was actually recently smashed up side the head with a beer bottle by some classy SI girls at "the mall"

That's an interesting blog entry from that bouncer. The answer to his question, as to "how did the rest of the country come to believe that the guido is a Jersey thing, instead of a NY thing" is the fact that the NYers go TO the Jersey Shore to party. So essentially, the location of the activities that these people involve themselves in, IS often within New Jersey borders, although most are not from NJ.
It's an understandable misinterpretation by Americans, but an irritating one nonetheless.

NY's clubs scene is the best in the nation, IDK how you think NJ is supposed to stack up- NYers are the ones that partied down in Seaside and created the highest rated MTV television series..
Snooki is from NY- The guy who punched snooki was a teacher from Queens.
