I believe as Dallas gets more lines and ridership and proven to be a success Fort Worth will inevitably will follow in its path.

Charleston, WV

Tri-state Racetrack & Gaming Center wanted to build this

and said that they'd hire 1,000 people! We held a special election to let them have table games in their casino!

After we voted for this, we were told that the land around the casino wasn't strong enough to support this project so we were left with this!

and to make it worse, the owners of the casino knew that the land was bad before the election!!!!!

That project was going to bring even more stuff to the area, but instead it was just another robbery!!!

And the sad part is, there isn't even a peep out of the public. No one has paid any attention to the matter!

LA's refusal to fund building a NFL stadium with tax money! The stinginess has meant no football team in over an decade!

Like I mentioned, there was a streetcar system being studied and proposed for Fort Worth, Texas. And last night, that study was put on hold, dispite the fact that there was (and still is) much support for this system and some facts given out that would make it feasable. One city councilman stated that he didn't want the streetcar to happen because ".... don't have the answers..."

Well hell, it's kinda hard to get those answers when you vote down the project that finds those answers. I can honestly say that for the first time in my 22 years of existance, I'm very disappointed in my city.

So:

FORT WORTH: Streetcar study shut down (2010)
Wow, and didn't FW win federal funding for the streetcar with the TIGER II grant? Shame.

For Atlanta, the biggest disappointment has got to be the state in which it is located.

The enjoyment of attending a pro football game. Also revenue for stores, restaurants near the stadium. Why to other cities pay for sports arenas? To provide entertainment for the citizens.

What about Joe 6 pack who can't even attend due to sky high prices. Dont get me wrong the 2nd largest city needs a football team but I think these billionaire owners need to put money from there pockets.

Yeah... and that was after the city got screwed by a grant it first applied for when all the money went to Dallas. It's not only a shame, it's yet another potential project that could have bolted this city into the 21st century where it belongs.

A good 70% of the population who were asked were in favor of it. The people against it are extremely misinformed and stuck in the 60's.

It's sad, really.... But as someone said on a Fort Worth company website, "Good ideas don't die, but they sure as hell take longer when our political leaders can't muster a few drops of courage."

Our city WILL progress with projects like this eventually. It's just gonna take a little more time. . . . And you have no idea how much I get sick of saying that last sentance.
