I can't put DC on the list actually because I foresee a huge cut in gov't spending (regardless of politics) that will affect the defense contractors, bureaucracys, etc. I think the sudden drop in the huge amount of gov't spending will negativly affect DC in the future. By the way I have no reason to hate DC
from the list:
1.) Dallas
2.) Houston
3.) OK city
4.) Austin
5.) lil Rock
It's hard for me to bet on smaller metros, but the 2 Texas city's are a must, a couple of state capitals and OK has to grow. It may have the biggest growth rate of the others.
I will put Houston first on the list because new projects are huge and the pop growth is enormous..The Texas Medical Center is famous to be the Silicon Valley of the biomedical research and the port of houston will grow strongly (+25%) and could become the most important port in the country.
DC is good and its future could be good too (many high-tech companies, gov capital, tourism it's pretty diversified) but the next government spending cuts could be painful for the city so I must be cautious.
Dallas is promising ! Omaha has a huge potentiel, maybe an emerging big city ! San Antonio is the most hispanic big city with many good types of jobs.And El Paso has the potential to become a leader in solar energy, don't forget that.
you will have to excuse the ignorance of some on here. to them DC is just where that black guy lives and Houston is an aligator village in the texas swamps
