2010 will be over in a few hours and I am going to be out in a few minutes to enjoy my new years. I wish you all a excellent New Years & New Decade, stay safe, and have fun!

But last year we had a thread that tallied up the homicide rates for cities across the country on a daily basis. It was mostly a civil thread and informative. Because of it I got to learn about so much crime reduction, what neighborhoods to avoid, and what cities saw a spike in crime.

Now its not 2011 just yet but it will be in a few hours. And most likely by tomorrow morning there will be countless reports for homicides across America in many of the cities as they see a daily "killing", "shooting", or "violence streak".

So I'm just making this thread 5 hours and 50 minutes early. But here is to the OFFICIAL cities & metros homicide thread for 2011.

And once again, have a great new year and make wise choices and most of all everyone have fun!
-----------------------------------------------------
My cities for far for 2011:
Austin- 0
Chicago- 0
Houston- 0
Washington DC- 0

So far all of them are looking pretty safe! Lets see how long they last this way. Hopefully it will be a while, I hope at least.

Another thing, I will add a poll in this thread in October or so asking if your city has seen a spike in crime or a reduction for 2011 for the year and what your thoughts are. So look for that later this year. So without anymore delays, lets get this thread started.

And I'm officially closing it one hour and forty-three minutes before the start of a new year.

C'mon folks - compare things between cities WITHOUT having a contest as to where the first murders of the year will take please. Really??
