actually respected and viewed in a positive light?

I have heard and read some convos on online boards where people are talking about how bad Indians are. People keep saying how us Indians are cheap, stinky, and fail to assimilate.

So I want to know about cities in the US where Indian (India) people are actually admired?

Like everyone in NYC loves Italians, everyone in San Francisco loves the Chinese, and nearly everyone in LA loves Latinos. So I want to know of cities where Indians are respected and admired. I want to visit those cities and maybe live there one day, list as many as possible.

Where I live, no one bothers me for being an Asian Indian, no one tries to convert me religiously, and no one really cares where I draw my origination from. Where I live, people get along in society, and its very easy going.

Cool that must be good.

Where I live there is little to do but people think Indians are bright.

You do realize that back when those groups and others were the 'new' immigrant groups they were reviled, not loved? It's not as if people welcomed them with open arms after a few years either. It took several generations for them to become assimilated, accepted and 'loved'.

FWIW check out Memphis TN. Not the best city to live IMO, but they have a noticeable Indian community. Lots of doctors and researchers at the hospitals, university professors, and a lot of Indians that own or run many of the motels and gas stations and other small businesses. They seem to be pretty well accepted in most of the community, since many of them hold respected positions.
