I am glad that Texas is doing well and the growth is going to Texas and not just the Northeast and California. But as for Texas:

No income tax: True
better agriculture: comapred to who?
better business environment: True
better education: compared to who?
diverse geography: technically true, but for a huge state the size of France, not really
lower cost of living: TRUE
ports, beaches, deserts, forests, mountains, hills, plains, etc. True

definitely not better educated than Cali...in fact, Texas is lower on the totem pole of public schools (not private or college -- the "elite"). But so is Cali! Cali has better colleges though, sorry.

Is that why Texas was ranked 13 best and Cali was ranked 30??

Texas is 13th best in public schools? What is the source -- that recent study about Education that was posted in this forum? If so, many people suspect that study is biased.

If so, absolutely great! But I've heard otherwise, so I'd like to know the truth I guess.
