I agree with Tampa and Orlando being close together, but it has never taken me under an hour to get from one to the other. Orlando and Daytona are only about 30-45 minutes apart. For others in the state of Florida you have:

Tampa Bay and Sarasota, only about 30-45 minutes apart.
Sarasota and Fort Myers, only about an hour apart.
Fort Myers and Naples, only about 20-30 minutes apart.
Orlando and Melbourne/Titusville are only about 45 minutes apart (only about 25 minutes if you go to UCF)
Jacksonville and Daytona are only an hour apart (30 minutes if you live in St. Augustine).

The cities in Florida are very close to each other. Making a drive from Jacksonville down to Miami or down to Naples, there are very few sparsely populated areas along the way. The only uninhabited area is by Cape Canaveral where the Kennedy Space Center is.

I do know that the DMV metro area and Baltimore metro area share borders for about 100 miles. LOL....it reminds me of the U.S.A. and Canada but way smaller. In my opinion Howard County should be included in the D.C.'s metro area because most of them work in D.C. but I guess commuting is still half and half in that county. Downtown D.C. to Downtown Baltimore is a 30 minute drive.

It makes the DMV metro area look very lopsided with the suburbs going well into Virginia but being cut short when driving 15 minutes north of D.C. lol.....it really is a funny scene

Yes, I agree.

Sacramento Metro (2.2 million) (CSMA - 2.4 million)

SJ-SF-Oak Metro (7.2 million)

You could arguably say the 2 metros meet at Travis AFB/Fairfield, CA.
SAC & SF are both 45 mins from Fairfield, CA.

From Orlando Metro (4 Corners, NE Polk County)
to
Tampa Metro (Plant City, Western Polk County) takes about 25-30 Minutes Metro to Metro.

now from inner city (Downtown Orlando to Downtown Tampa) about 50 - 60 minutes.
