The building isn't neon, its argon. All the buildings are not from the same time period. Some of the buildings were built in the 50s, 60s, 70s, and 80s.
You're right. Its called argon gas, which is basically the same thing as neon. The argon gas gives off the emerald green color. Neon is a generic term used for border lighting. Even florescent tubes & LED's when spaced close together can give off a neon like appearance.
We only have one box in our skyline. That's the Renaissance Tower.
All of these are boxes
Sheraton (old Adam's Mark)
One Art's Plaza
Republic Center buildings
Thanksgiving Tower
TXU Building
Elm Place
Bryan Tower
Hardwood Center
KPMG Centre
Lincoln Plaza
One Main Place

oh yeah, I have seen that building at night a couple of times, I have never seen it in the day though. It does look weird in the daylight picture, but it did look cool when I saw it at night.

These are not boxes! A box is shaped like a square not a rectangle. Also a box do not have set backs or titled angles. Lincoln Plaza isn't a box at all!
