You're right. Its called argon gas, which is basically the same thing as neon. The argon gas gives off the emerald green color. Neon is a generic term used for border lighting. Even florescent tubes & LED's when spaced close together can give off a neon like appearance.

The NYE ball is made out of pure crystal with thousands of LED's which light it up from the inside.

oh yeah, I have seen that building at night a couple of times, I have never seen it in the day though. It does look weird in the daylight picture, but it did look cool when I saw it at night.

Has anyone notice all the epic fails Houston has been building up lately???

Embassy Suites, Memorial Hermann, and a few others.

The biggest disappointment was Embassy Suites; I will never forgive them for that.

I like the Reunion Tower at night, but during the day it reminds me of some kind of over sized water tower.

These are not boxes! A box is shaped like a square not a rectangle. Also a box do not have set backs or titled angles. Lincoln Plaza isn't a box at all!
