You guys mean to tell me when people mention some of these cities you're naming people are clueless of ANYTHING to associate them with???

Austin = Univ. of Texas/Longhorns
Atlanta = Civil Rights, Hip-Hop, Black Mecca, New South
Miami = Beaches/Nightlife/Large Hispanic pop
Denver = The Rocky Mountains
Seattle = Space Needle
Las Vegas = Gambling
Dallas = Cowboys, Oil

Those aren't identities most people know???
Agreed. Your are spot on with those identies I believe.

EXCUSE ME?

You can't even think of the Western stereotypes? Look, I know Fort Worth isn't that well known, but even still the first things that come to mind when people here "Fort Worth" (after Dallas) are cowboys/cowgirls, longhorns, and the Old West. C'mon, dude.

And even Indianapolis as Indy cars and Baltimore is stereotyped for crime... Arguably, Albuquerque as the southwest image ingrained into EVERYONE's mind.

Seriously? You need to get out of Texas. We have one of the most distinct identities in the Midwest if not the country.

Sports:

The first professional baseball team was the Cincinnati Red Stockings (Reds)
The big red machine of the 70's
The bungles, the worst pro franchise in the country
Not to mention Xavier and UC which have had some very successful basketball teams. UC has won two national championships.
The Cyclones, our hockey team, have won multiple Kelly cups in EACHL the past couple years.

Cincinnati also has some of the most distinctive city cuisine anywhere in
Cincinnati Chili and Goetta.

Not mention some of the most distinctive architecture in neighborhoods such as Over the Rhine, a strong German and Catholic heritage anchored by events like Oktoberfest and parish festivals in the summer, and a unique Appalachian heritage that comes form our position on the Ohio river, that gives us beautiful rolling hills. In fact a friend of mine from just outside of NYC called it one of the most beautiful settings for a city he's ever seen. In fact the Brooklyn Bridge, one of the most iconic bridges in the country was based off the Roebling brindge

Cincinnati also has played a tremendous role in history. There are more presidents from Cincinnati than any other metropolitan area in the United States

William Henry Harrison
Ulysses S. Grant
Benjamin Harrison
Rutherford B. Hayes
William Howard Taft

All were Cincinnatians!

Also Cincinnati played a tremendous role in the Union war effort.

Other Famous Cincinnatians:

Neil Armstong
Pete Rose
Roger Staubach
Oscar Robertson

Ted Turner and Steven Speilberg were also both born in Cincinnati.

And these are just the important athletes and political figures.

We also have P&G one of the largest companies in the world and some of the best ice cream you'll ever have in Graeters.

There's much, much, much more I've only scratched the surface

That has nothing to do with it if he puts down Fort Worth as a city with no identity....

I think some people are confusing lack of identity with lack of popularity. THAT I can understand...

What a ridiculous list by someone who probably hasn't been to most of those cities. Outside of Fort Worth, each and every city on that list has a significant identity, and at least half of which blow the identity of your town away.
