Skyline in general: Pittsburgh (I like the Art Deco and contemporary combination)
Architecture: Pittsburgh (again....Art Deco)
Color: Denver (it's almost a rainbow of colors in Denver, with nice shiny glass)
Height: Denver (I know Pitt is technically the tallest but Denver it tall in more places)
Size: Denver (it sprawls more and Pitt is more condensed but I believe Denver has the upper hand in total office space and hence, size of downtown. Also more condos and hotels).
..Anything you can think of...
Street presence: Pittsburgh (I haven't been to Pitt personally, but Denver's street presence doesn't quite compare to Pittsburgh's Eastern-type street scene and buildings meet the street much nicer there)
People: Pittsburgh (I like the mentality of Pittsburgh and despite being gloomy, it just seems like a place where I could really understand people well. I can't say that about Denver. Personal tastes just dictate Pitt on this made-up subject).

Winner: Pittsburgh by a hair, but Denver is no slouch and I think the following cities all have a solid downtown ambiance that can be overlooked by bigger (and more boring, IMO) downtowns:

Pittsburgh
Denver
Seattle
Minneapolis

I love them both-Born and Raised in Denver-other half from Pittsburgh-
Both cities are beautiful in different ways-
One thing that Denver has going for it....our roads in downtown are good and you don't feel like you are 4 wheel driving. That is one thing I cannot understand about Pittsburgh-the roads in downtown are so BAD

^^I think it's on the "City vs City" forum under "General US". There is no sticky about skylines on this forum.

Denver. Solely for the mountain backdrop, and we have more modern skyscrapers than Pittsburgh.

I do love Pittsburgh's downtown though.
