Sweet, MPLS has more than Boston, Atlanta, Phoenix, Denver, Detroit and Philly. Radical.

The only thing about the whole Billionaire thing is that they only serve up to about a staggering 1% of the States total population. the other 99% Falls within the Upper, Middle, Lower, and Working Class, so that's why they use Median Incomes instead. There's simply never enough Billionaires within all of our states to determine the wealthiest state, plus the average person isn't a billionaire. The Average person is in the Middle Class and works a 9 to 5, so that's who they use instead. If most people were Billionaires, then they would use that to determine how wealthy a state is.

You've got your info wrong, the DC area is not "rich",it's among the richest in America and also has the wealthiest counties in the nation.

Number of billionaires is irrelevant to the affluence of the area. For example here Miami metro has more billionaires than DC yet median household income in Miami area is like $20000 less than DC

LOL, DC folks are piling on me with the vengance

I'm sorry, but DC just can't compete with NY and the Bay Area in terms of wealth

Miami is an anomaly. High # of billionaires indicate of a very successful economy.

There is nothing wrong with what I said. DC metro isn't rich, period. It may have several high median income counties, but rich it is not.

Washington DC isn't rich, they just don't have large wealth gaps like other cities who have wealth that would crush DC's "wealth". For DC's size and infleunce, the billionaire population is so paltry and embarassing.

The gubment may pay well, but not that well!

And the average person in any metro in the united states is not rich either.

The premesis of this thread is about wealth, as in rich people, not the average person, there is a difference.

This list simply validates that DC doesnt have big wealth producing industry.
