Of the two cities which would you say moves at a faster clip than the other? I would say DC simply because even though Philly is larger population wise the DC area is much busier to me. I grew up in Philly so that's just my opinion. DC rush hour starts at 5am and last until at least 10am. In the afternoons 3pm-8pm. Philly is more 6:30am-9am, 3pm-7pm sometimes ending at 6:30pm. There is no doubt DC is smaller land, and population wise but it feels faster than Philly. The METRO is way busier than SEPTA, traffic is of course worse in DC than Philly.

It depends, I think an argument could be made either way. Having lived and worked in both Philly definately feels much more northeastern in people and interaction, DC is much more ridden with a type A persona. In some ways they have the two components of NYC but neither with the combination of the two

I agree on DC traffic, it is worse which always perplexed me becuse there are fewer people and better highways

DC easily. From a traffic standpoint Philly never makes the list of most congested metro list. When a metro is congested people naturally respond with aggression/fast paced attitude. So with that said DC metro easily.

Philly by far, it has the "get the f**k out my way", "northeastern attitude" and having been in both, Philly drivers are generally faster and more aggressive

If you're talking about people walking faster, driving faster, I'm sure Philly is at least the equal of DC.

I have to go with DC on this one. The people there are just so busy all the time and for a longer period of time than they are in Philly. DC Has way more people on Subways, Buses, and in cars (With traffic way worse than Philly's too BTW) and they also have a daytime population which is a little over a million people within i'ts city core during the day walking around from here to there. It's just a Workaholic City, so just imagine if only half of there daytime population (500,000 people) were late for work in the morning. There's gonna be chaos on the subways, buses, and highways with people rushing and pushing each other out of the way to get to work. Pure madness.

i DEFINITELY have to disagree with u on that one. i have driven in both during rush hour, and DC by far worse than philly. going thru DC during rush will add 4 hours to ur trip easily ( i know from experience). DC drivers are far more aggressive too. to me, Philly wasnt any worse than Baltimore, but baltimore is getting worse by the day it seems.

Washington has lots of nutty people running around frantically. However, the people there drive like my dead grandmother.
