It just seems wierd to move to NYC just for their lower crime rate unless you also want an enviroment that was more stimulating or where car-free living is more possible.
Haha, no its not just for the low crime rate. There are more opportunities and I'm into music and things like that. It seems like a cool place.

Sigh... again, I didn't say anyone in this thread SAID THAT.

I said anyone who DOES is idiotic. It was preemptive.

It's not that hard to understand if you have the reading comprehension of a 12 year old, yet you seem to be TRYING to misunderstand me.

Either that or it's a classic "If the shoe fits" scenario and you often pride yourself in how "tough" your city is; thus you were offended when I pointed out that being proud of violent crime-ridden cities is idiotic.

" Uh... You'd have to be an absolute idiot to WANT your city to be more dangerous.

Just because you live in a dangerous neighborhood doesn't mean you're dangerous. It just means you're POOR.

NYC's violent crime has been on a decline for a long time, thankfully. In fact NYC's violent crime rate is among the lowest for any high-population city. And at least in NYC you don't have to worry about rattlesnakes and scorpions."

When you make a statement like the one you made, it's open to interpretation. The end.

How did these people get their stats???

Athens, GA the 18th most dangerous city America and most Dangerous city in GA? (when in reality, it's the safest 2nd tier city in Georgia)

"Murray, Utah" more dangerous than West Palm Beach?

Council Bluffs, Iowa more dangerous than Memphis??

Salt Lake City, Utah more dangerous than 81st ranked Camden, NJ???

lol...could go on for ever.

That list is a joke.

Hmm...I'm not sure how they did it but reputations don't count.

Huh? It's not about reputation. The per capita crime rates in several cities are much higher than several other cities listed as "more dangerous" on that list.

That list doesnt even have Detroit on it at all, dont take it too serious.

Just go to the actual city data profiles of some of those cities and see how the crime rates arent as high as cities ranked well above them.

lets just take a look at...for an example...the per capita crime rates of
31st most dangerous city Salt Lake City and 81st most dangerous city Camden. Camden's crime is much worse.

It makes no sense at all.

CQ Press City Crime Rankings are way more accurate

Yeah well I didn't make the list. Maybe they're counting the Mexico side? (Matamoros, Nuevo Progreso, Río Bravo, and Reynosa) Thats all I can think of. I go to the Mexico side all the time, it takes like 10 minutes. And also, maybe the crime is high for a metropolitan city, which Edinburg is, and the amount of people.

Lol I'm glad you think so.

I'm not even going to go into a huge discussion since I've done it 1000 times and I even don't care for crime threads anymore since they're wack and played out with the same ignorance all the time. Feel free to go anywhere in NYC you like, at the end of the day a hood is a hood anywhere you go, you think it's just nice and easy EVERYWHERE since the crime rate for the WHOLE city is low then by all means have a great time.

RGV wins easily. Theirs a reason people hate the valley, and thats because it is run by cartels. La Joya is a perfect example.

its sad that Americans are being terrorized by those thugs, but its true.

While i think RGV is bad as a hole, nothing really beats the non-RGV city of Laredo....

La Joya is an RGV city, and that area is just so overun by the cartel its embarrassing.

if by soft you mean that aren't stupid enough to vote in a crackhead for a mayor and post about it and other acts of "keeping it real" on CD to reinforce the image of how "hard" our city is then yeah, we're soft.
