Which city is more lively. Which one is cleaner, and offered better opportunities? Which one has better arts and culture, and which one is more significant on the American landscape?

I disagree, have you ever been to Cleveland? While today the city is a shell of its former self, taking a drive through around the neighborhoods will show you what a giant Cleveland was at one time.

Chicago today has 2.7 million people...far more than Cleveland of 1950.

Better arts and culture? More significant on the American landscape? Chicago of course. It's the most dominant and global city of the Midwest. Nice attempt though. Cleveland was certainly a lively city in the 1950s, but comparing it to Chicago (1950 or 2011...it doesnt matter) is pushing it way too far.

Folks, honestly, the room is for making comparisons - but comparing one city mid-20th century to another city of 2011 is pushing the "come on" factor a bit. Let's keep things current, please.

Thank you
