I voted for: Boston, Minnesota, Philly, Chicago, Pittsburgh, and Buffalo. Shocked to see I was the first vote for the Blackhawks, certainly not #1, but I figured they deserved a nod. All the cities I voted for fall in unspecified order after Detroit, which falls after Montreal and Toronto. Other Canadian cities fall within the pack of top US ones

The problem with Minny is that the flight of the North Stars disenchanted MANY Minnesotans with the NHL, and adding even more enthusiasm for high school and college hockey (easily....EASILY...number one in the country for both in terms of enthusiasm). That being said, if the Wild ever become a true contender, Minneapolis/MN will become a top 5 hockey city for the NHL all over again. As it stands, the team doesn't invest enough to become legit champs, and everybody knows it, and that pi$$es people off. The "real" hockey is the stuff you see on the ponds, in high school, and colleges. This is where I see the best hockey I've ever seen, regardless of skill level.
